Former club member and secretary Sue Harker made a welcome return to see us in our new venue. Sue has stepped back from club activities in the last year due to family commitments, but is still demonstrating, giving lessons, and producing her excellent and imaginative work.
Sadly due to family illness I was unable to attend the meeting, so I do not have a commentary on the demonstration. The photos below were kindly provided by Gordon Malan. Any details from any club member welcome.
The finished candlestick
Presumably Sue gave a hint about the value of remote switches in the workshop - they sav leaning over machinery to switch on and off. A note from personal experience - the ones I have in my workshop turn themselves on if there is a mains power outage. I have gone into my shed after a power cut to find the extractor fans in full flow, or more seriously in winter the heater!
